About Us

History

The Voices of Joy, God's Chosen Few, was founded in 1985 at the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Alorton, Illinois under the pastoral leadership of the late Reverend E.I. Jennings and Reverend John Armstead, Jr.

Mrs. Virginia Branson was the original president of the group. Later the group was reorganized at the home of the late Mother Cora Bowman, a member of Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church, the grandmother of Mrs. Corrine Hill Jackson and Minister Dr. Leeanna Hill, Ph.D.

Present pastoral leadership and support of The Voices of Joy is provided by Reverend Dr. Rodney J. Howlett and first lady Prophetess Minister Arleen Howlett.
